Rosemary & Elderflower Prosecco Cocktail

Rosemary & Elderflower Prosecco Cocktail

Y’all...we have been through it this year! Thankfully, we are nearing the end of 2020 and we have good reason to celebrate. We used our collective power to vote and make a change for the better by electing Joe Biden as our next President and Kamala Harris as our next history-making Vice President! I wish I could have been back home to celebrate this momentous occasion when the official call was announced. Instead, I made this amazing Rosemary & Elderflower Prosecco Cocktail for us and it was perfect!

This bubbly concoction is layered with earthy, floral, and citrus flavors that will dance joyfully on your palate, just like the folks who danced in the streets 2 weeks ago haha!

First, you will make a fresh batch of rosemary-infused simple syrup, which is a 1:1 ratio of sugar to water and 3 stems of rosemary. Combine these ingredients in a small saucepan and stir until the sugar dissolves completely. Allow it to boil and reduce down until it becomes a loose syrup then let it cool to room temperature. The flavors from this rosemary-infused simple syrup will bring body and a delicious earthy depth of flavor to this beverage.

To begin making this cocktail, grab your favorite champagne flutes and pour in the freshly made rosemary-infused simple syrup. Next, add in St. Germain Elderflower liqueur and Grand Marnier orange cognac liqueur.

Cut a small piece of lemon peel and rub it around the rim of the glasses. Add 1 stem of rosemary to each glass then top off each one with some chilled prosecco.

Garnish with a lemon slice and serve. Now it’s time to toast with those close to you and celebrate the good things in this life! #WeDidThat!

That’s it for today’s recipe! I hope you enjoyed it and when you decide to make this delicious Rosemary & Elderflower Prosecco Cocktail, please share on social media with the hashtag #CookingWithACA and tag me @acertainaesthetic. Take care of yourself, love each other, and have a great weekend!

Rosemary & Elderflower Prosecco Cocktail

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • Rosemary Stems x4

  • 1 bottle of chilled Prosecco

  • St Germain Elderflower Liqueur - 1 tbsp per glass

  • Grand Marnier Liqueur - 1 tsp per glass

  • Rosemary-infused simple syrup - 1 tbsp per glass

    • ½ cup sugar

    • ½ cup water

    • 3 rosemary stems

  • 1 lemon

    • 4 half slices

    • 1-inch lemon peel

Directions

  1. Make the rosemary-infused simple syrup by adding ½ cup of sugar and ½ cup water to a small saucepan. Stir to begin dissolving the sugar and add in 3 rosemary stems. Bring to a boil on medium heat and allow it to cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. After 5 mins, take the pan off the heat and allow the simple syrup to cool to room temperature.

  2. Collect 4 champagne flutes and in each one pour in 1 tbsp of the rosemary-infused simple syrup, 1 tbsp St Germain Elderflower liqueur, and 1 tsp of Grand Marnier liqueur.

  3. Cut a 1-inch piece of lemon peel and rub it around the rim of each glass 3 times.

  4. Place 1 stem of rosemary in each glass and fill to the top with chilled prosecco.

  5. Garnish each glass with a half lemon slice and toast this moment with the ones you love!

Notes

  • The rosemary may react to the prosecco, so take your time when pouring it into each glass.

  • You can make the rosemary-infused simple syrup the day before and it will be even more fragrant with rosemary essence!

  • Use the rosemary stem or a spoon to stir the cocktail, which will ensure that the liqueurs and prosecco are well mixed.
